My favorite part of this pendant and thus how it gets its name, is the center focal point, the steering wheel - or as it is referred to on a boat the "Helm".  I love compasses because my family are all accomplished sailors and have a deep connection with the ocean. This particular pendant is stunning. Compasses represent having a direction or staying "on course". We all need to have a direction even if it is not the one we thought we would be on. 
 
The detail in this design are beautiful with a cut out Mother of Pearl accent around the edge and at the top, bottom and either side are the N,S,W, and E for our compass, while the edging is finished off with natural Cz's.
 
This pendant would be terrific on the  “Perfect Paperclip” The “Box Paperclip” chain or the classic Italian “Rope Chain” - all are Gold-filled.
